Sorter / Production Support Job Description The Sorter / Production Support role is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe manufacturing environment through routine cleaning and sorting of production materials. This position plays a critical role in supporting plant safety, operational efficiency, and compliance with housekeeping and safety standards across the production area. Responsibilities Maintain a clean and organized manufacturing environment in all assigned areas. Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping and general janitorial duties to keep production floors, workstations, and walkways free of debris. Sort production materials accurately to support efficient workflow and general production operations. Support general labor and production activities as needed to ensure smooth daily operations. Identify and report potential fire risks and housekeeping deficiencies to appropriate personnel. Apply basic knowledge of combustible dust and fire prevention principles while performing cleaning and sorting tasks. Follow workplace safety practices and adhere to company housekeeping and safety standards at all times. Conduct quality checks on sorted materials to ensure they meet basic quality control expectations. Work reliably on assigned weekday shifts and be available for overtime on Fridays when required. Essential Skills Strong attention to detail and observation skills. Knowledge of workplace safety practices. Ability to identify potential fire risks and housekeeping deficiencies. Basic understanding of combustible dust and fire prevention principles. Good organizational skills and ability to sort materials accurately. Reliability and commitment to consistently report to work as scheduled. Capability to perform general labor and industrial cleaning tasks in a production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with cleaning in industrial or manufacturing settings. Familiarity with janitorial tasks such as sweeping and basic facility upkeep. Work Environment This position is based in a non-temperature-controlled manufacturing facility, where conditions may vary with the seasons. You work on either a first shift from 7:00 AM to 5:10 PM Monday through Friday or a third shift from 9:00 PM to 7:10 AM Monday through Friday, with overtime opportunities on Fridays. The environment is production-focused, with active machinery, materials handling, and industrial cleaning activities, requiring appropriate work attire suitable for a manufacturing and general labor setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Glasgow, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
