Job Summary The Punch Helper supports Punch Operators in the setup, operation, and maintenance of punch press machinery. This role is essential to maintaining efficient production workflows, ensuring material readiness, and assisting with quality checks. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and eager to learn technical processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Assist Punch Operators with machine setup, including tool and die preparation. Load and unload metal components onto punch press machines. Organize and stage materials to ensure smooth production flow. Perform basic inspections of punched components for defects or irregularities. Clean and maintain work areas and equipment to support safety and efficiency. Help monitor machine operations and report any irregularities to the operator or supervisor. Transport finished parts to designated areas using carts or forklifts (if certified). Support documentation efforts by recording material usage and production counts as directed. Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and safe handling of materials. Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and maintain a positive work environment.
Requirements:
Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is a plus. Basic understanding of mechanical tools and safety procedures. Willingness to learn punch press operations and technical processes. Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and reliability. Ability to follow instructions and work cooperatively with others. Forklift certification is a plus but not required. Physical and Environmental Requirements Frequent standing, bending, and lifting of materials up to 50 pounds. Regular exposure to noise, heat, and airborne particles in a manufacturing environment. Ability to wear required protective gear, such as gloves, goggles, and steel-toed boots. Comfortable working near moving machinery and in varying temperatures.
