Overview Wage rate is commensurate with experience level. Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Fixture & Tool Builder, supporting Aerospace, Defense and Automotive projects. In this vital role, you will build custom fixtures and tooling that ensure high-quality manufacturing outcomes. Your mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and proficiency with advanced machining and CAD software will drive continuous improvement and operational excellence. Duties Interpret prints and technical drawings to develop fixtures and tools aligned with project specifications Use CAD software such as CATIA to design tooling solutions that optimize manufacturing workflows Set up and operate bridgeports to machine tool details. Set up and operate manual machining equipment like grinders, calipers, micrometers, and hand tools to produce high-precision components Perform metal machining and assembly tasks. Conduct quality control measurements using precision measuring instruments to verify dimensional accuracy and adherence to specifications Maintain detailed documentation of tool designs, machining processes, schematics, and maintenance records for ongoing operational support Requirements Proven experience in mechanical knowledge relevant to fixture and tool building Proficiency with reading/viewing CAD software. Hands-on experience with manual machining equipment. Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards for precise measurement and quality assurance Experience with shop measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and precision measuring instruments Print interpretation skills combined with shop math competency for accurate fabrication Prior toolroom experience or manufacturing background focused on tooling or fixture construction is highly desirable .
