About Our Company J.L. Smith & Co. is a team of more than 30 people and the parent company of Flute World, along with several other brands serving the niche woodwind instrument industry. What began as a one-person repair shop in 1991 has grown into a company that manufactures tools, supplies, and parts for instrument technicians while also selling flutes, piccolos, sheet music, and accessories. Our production team is responsible for making a vast array of unique products that our industry relies on. Main Responsibilities Assemble kits, assortments, tools and instrument accessories Package products Use light machinery to make parts and components (e.g. arbor press) Operate a CNC machine (no prior experience needed) Use a PC to check in product, print files, manage order queue etc. Qualifications and Requirements Sense of hustle and urgency Pride in your work Team player that leads by example Strong attention to detail Ability to pick and count small parts accurately and quickly Ability to read small print Ability to focus throughout the work day Ability to lift heavy boxes (around 25 lbs.)
