Based on experience Position Summary We are seeking a dependable, hard‑working Welder/Shop Helper to support our welding and crane-fabrication team. This position is responsible for assisting welders and shop personnel with daily production activities, material handling, job setup, part preparation, cleanup, and general shop duties to ensure smooth operations. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety‑focused, and willing to learn. Key Responsibilities Load and unload trucks, and move or stage components around the shop floor and yard Help read and identify part numbers, tags, components, etc. Operate forklifts and overhead cranes (training provided) Keep the shop neat, clean, and organized (support 5S / 6S standards) Use hand tools & power tools safely (grinders, impacts, drills, etc.) Prep steel by cleaning, grinding or tacking as directed Fabricate steel parts used for structures and cranes (measuring & layout work) Paint structures and cranes (must have the ability or be willing to learn) Assist in crane assembly and perform quality checks on finished cranes Support welders by staging and supplying parts so welders can stay focused on welding Perform general shop duties as assigned Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE Qualifications Previous industrial, construction, or shop experience preferred but not required Ability to read tape measure and use hand tools & power tools safely Comfortable working around welding and fabrication equipment Strong work ethic, reliable attendance, willingness to learn welding and fabrication skills Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team Must be able to lift and move materials as required Preferred (Not Required) Experience in welding, fabrication, mechanical assembly, or painting Forklift or overhead crane experience Basic mechanical aptitude
