Screen Printing Production Assistant Merch Unlimited | Garner, North Carolina Full time | In person | $16 to $20 per hour Learn a skilled trade with paid, hands on training. No screen printing experience required. Merch Unlimited is hiring a Production Assistant to support our screen printing department at our new 14,000 square foot facility in Garner. This is an entry level opportunity for someone who enjoys active work, follows directions, and wants to learn how printed apparel is made. You'll join a team of about nine people and train alongside an experienced press operator. Our shop has an easygoing atmosphere, and we take pride in producing quality work and helping each other meet production goals. Applicants looking for their first job are welcome.

Your responsibilities will include:

Sorting garments and preparing them for production. Catching shirts as they come off the dryer. Checking print quality and bringing issues to the press operator's attention. Folding and boxing completed orders. Preparing and cleaning screens. Rotating among tasks to support the production team. As you develop your skills, you'll learn to unload shirts from the press, load garments onto the press, and eventually help set up print jobs. You'll receive guidance as you learn, with opportunities to work more independently as your skills grow. We're looking for someone who: Shows up consistently and on time. Follows instructions carefully and applies what they learn. Asks questions when something is unclear. Pays attention to quality, including during repetitive tasks. Communicates respectfully and works well with others. Takes pride in their work and wants to develop new skills. During your first 90 days, we want to see steady progress toward handling familiar tasks with less supervision, remembering established procedures, and becoming a dependable part of the production team. This is an active manufacturing role involving standing and moving throughout the shift, repetitive movements, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The production area can get warm during the summer. Starting pay is $16 per hour for applicants new to the work. Candidates with prior manufacturing experience in the screen printing industry may qualify for up to $20 per hour, depending on experience. Employees can choose between two schedules: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Each day includes a 30 minute unpaid lunch break, providing 40 paid hours per week under either regular schedule. Employees choosing the four day schedule may also be asked to work a partial Friday when production requires it. We anticipate approximately six to eight of these Fridays per year.
