Summary/Objective The Team Lead will be responsible for the performance of people and processes under the direction of the Production Supervisor. Must establish and maintain a safe, productive, and positive work environment, train and coach team members and maintain workflow that results in achieving the daily shift production schedule.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Maintain a constant alert for hazardous conditions 2. Live the Marcal Paper values at all times 3. Ensure value stream productivity targets are met through hands-on support 4. Knowledge and proficiency of all production equipment and plant processes including, but not limited to, safety, production, quality, shipping & receiving, autonomous maintenance 5. Coach and mentor team members 6. Provide focused training to develop the equipment operators and determine the needs of the individuals to improve understanding, performance, and efficiencies 7. Operate and troubleshoot the production equipment to identify problem areas that need to be addressed by maintenance 8. Monitor all operators to ensure correct procedures and policies are being followed in a safe and productive manner 9. Lead and direct the production floor during any absence of the Production Supervisor 10. Report to management, on an immediate basis, any issues, or concerns 11. Assist in leading communication and safety meetings 12. Strong organizational skills are needed to maintain work area and set priorities according to production requirements 13. Other duties, as assigned Work Environment This job operates in a manufacturing environment. The work environment includes time on the shop floor working with people and machinery as well as limited time in an office setting. Work shift is 7:00pm to 7:00am or 7:00am to 7:00pm with overtime as required. The schedule reflects a 3-2-2-3 12-hour shift schedule. Required Education and Experience 1. High School Diploma or equivalent 2. Intermediate Math skills 3. Minimum one-year manufacturing experience required 4. Prior experience in a Team Lead Role preferred 5. Proficient with MS Office and overall systems/computer literacy 6.
