The Line Lead will support the Production Supervisor in all aspects to ensure the line is flowing smoothly and efficiently. In the absence of the Production Supervisor, the Line Lead will assume the responsibility of running the line fully. He or She will also give days off to the supervisor as required. In addition, if any of the machine operators are absent the line lead will assume that position temporarily. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. The Line Lead must plan, control, and organize all aspects required for the efficient production of all daily and weekly orders in a timely and orderly fashion. Ensuring employees are trained & meeting Production expectations is a top priority. Leads must be capable of training and performing make-up jobs such as a glaze mixer, dough mixer, scaler, and sugar operator. The Lead must also be able to operate in
Major Essential Functions:
Schedule and coordinate activities of employees. Meets established deadlines and objectives for their assigned shift. Maintaining employee relations and adhering to company policies is another key component of the Leads. All Leads must maintain company standards for GMP's. SQF & FDA and maintain housekeeping standards. Leads will also observe all safety practices and maintain a safe working environment. Complete headcounts and wellness check (when required) prior to start of shift. Motivates and leads the team in a progressive manner with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement and Teamwork. Be able to operate all aspects of the entire line to facilitate training of employees. Coordinates and verifies appropriate application of all codes to all orders. Supply the line with all ingredients and materials needed in a timely manner. Maintains stocking area in a neat and orderly manner to ease inventory counting. Complete required JDE procedure and paperwork throughout the day. Assist in eliminating raw material waste. Verify all the standards, such as fryer speed, dough temperature, glaze temperature, boiling times etc. Notify Supervisor or Management of any damaged equipment, computer, or scanner. Works directly with and reports to Production Supervisor and Production Control Manager.
REQUIREMENTS
Bakery experience is preferred. Must be hands-on and able to lift to 75 lbs. Must be able to stand on your feet for long periods of time. Must be able to reach overhead, bend, stoop, and squat frequently throughout shift Must be computer literate and able to make good, sound decisions. Promote safety awareness and develop safety goals with team. Report injuries or incidents to Supervisor & Human Resources. Proficiency using JD Edwards, SAP, IR scanner guns preferred.
