Job Description

The printing operator position is needed at Hood Packaging Corporation's Thomasville, NC location. This position will assist in ensuring HACCP, GMP'S, work instructions, and SQF requirements are in compliance. Responsibilities Must follow safety guidelines, wear designated personal protective equipment and meet OSHA safety requirements. Must be able to identify and understand customer requirements. Assists in preparing press and all job components for print job (loading specified anilox, sleeves, ink, film, etc.) Ensures work area is kept clean according to facility/corporate standards Ensures all environmental standards and requirements are met Responsible for maintaining ink levels, viscosity an pH levels Responsible for ensuring non-used ink decks are under pump circulation with pH water to ensure proper pump performance Supports the change-over of each job under the direction of Operator Assists in trouble shooting machine when it is down or not performing to standard Assists maintenance with machine repairs and preventive maintenance Responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day operation of the machine is consistent with the policies and procedures which make up the Quality System. Continuously improve the process as an individual and as a team member Supports and maintains all activities related to Food Safety Management system Ability to sight ink formulas and distinguish between all color matches during the printing process through direct visual inspection. Responsible for managing and handling hazardous waste. Maintain an understanding of the materials used in production and their specific differences. Other responsibilities and duties as assigned Qualifications High School Diploma 1 + years, preferred of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment. Ability to read and understand simple written materials. Ability to write simple statements and numbers. Ability to perform arithmetic calculations with fractions and decimals. Average dexterity and coordination. Ability to climb stairs and lift up to 50lbs. Frequent mental/visual attention to monitor press operation. Ability to distinguish colors. Must be able to work in a team environment. Must adhere to plant safety and housekeeping standards 12-hour shift 2/2/3 schedule 8pm-8am (NIGHTS)
