Working as part of a coordinated production team the Machine Shop Assistant supports the shop team by handling basic tasks and housekeeping duties to ensure a smooth and safe operating environment. This position is intended to be a stepping stone into the precision manufacturing industry, giving anybody with adequate drive and a desire to learn the opportunity to learn on-the-job and develop a sought-after skill set. Responsibilities Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. Clean and catalog incoming materials Wash and prep finished parts for transfer to the customer Reorganize tooling and workbenches Sweep and mop floors. Document actions by completing production and quality logs when applicable Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications. Participate in continuous improvement efforts Regular and consistent attendance at Milford Manufacturing location Requirements High School Diploma or GED required. No experience necessary. Some experience in team-oriented electro-mechanical manufacturing is beneficial. Working Environment Some exposure to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can occasionally be loud. Safety equipment is available and must be used.
