Are you a designer who can take an idea from concept to technical execution ? We are recruiting for a growing organization in the commercial furniture industry seeking a talented Commercial Furniture Designer to join its team in Branchburg, NJ. This is not a graphic design role. We're looking for someone who understands commercial interiors, space planning, furniture systems, materials, specifications, and technical design —someone who can balance creativity with the precision required to turn a great concept into a successful finished environment. You'll help create innovative, functional spaces across corporate/workplace, education, healthcare, hospitality, and public-sector environments , developing solutions that are both visually compelling and technically sound. What You'll Be Doing Develop commercial furniture concepts and space-planning solutions Create sketches, renderings, mood boards, and 3D visualizations Produce detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and production-ready files Prepare specifications, bills of materials (BOMs), finish selections, and presentations Partner with sales, project management, and clients to understand project requirements and develop customized solutions Participate in client presentations, design reviews, and collaborative design sessions Support custom furniture modifications, product updates, and design clarifications Maintain accurate and organized project documentation
What We're Looking For Required:
2-5 years of professional design experience , ideally within commercial furniture, contract furniture, commercial interiors, workplace solutions, or a closely related environment Proficiency with industry design software such as CAP 2020, AutoCAD, CET, SketchUp, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar Strong understanding of furniture construction, materials, ergonomics, and manufacturing processes Ability to produce both compelling visual concepts and technically accurate design documentation Strong presentation and visual communication skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Experience within commercial interiors, workplace solutions, or contract furniture is especially desirable. Familiarity with sustainability practices, LEED, and material performance standards is a plus. Why Consider This Opportunity?
