Job Description
We are a growing manufacturing company committed to operational excellence, quality, and continuous improvement. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Production Scheduler Specialist to support our production operations by coordinating work orders, maintaining production schedules, and ensuring efficient workflow across our manufacturing facilities. Position Summary The Production Scheduler is responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring production activities to ensure customer orders are completed on time while maximizing production efficiency. This role works closely with Production, Warehouse, Sales, and Management to coordinate manufacturing schedules, monitor raw material availability, and maintain accurate production records. Essential ResponsibilitiesProduction Planning & Scheduling Review, create, and maintain daily production schedules. Link production work orders with the appropriate work centers to maximize production output. Sequence work orders to support efficient production flow and meet customer and sales priorities. Monitor production progress throughout the day and communicate scheduling changes as needed. Report scheduling conflicts, production delays, bottlenecks, and material shortages to management. Work Order Management Verify sales order information for accuracy before releasing work orders. Ensure work centers are correctly assigned to each production order. Monitor work order status and update production planning schedules. Close work orders accurately and on time. Verify the correct quantity of raw materials consumed during production. Correct system errors related to production scheduling and work orders. Materials Planning Verify Bills of Materials (BOM) for accuracy. Ensure raw materials, including substitute materials, are available before production begins. Monitor stock consumption daily and determine material requirements for future work orders. Collaborate with Warehouse and Production teams regarding inventory availability and production capacity. Production Reporting Maintain daily reports of completed work orders. Track production progress at each stage, including printing, cutting, and assembly. Monitor production priorities and coordinate work orders for the printing department. Generate reports to support production planning and management decisions. Somerville Facility Responsibilities Close production work orders accurately, verifying resin and stock item usage. Generate additional production labels required for customer-specific orders. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field is preferred. Previous experience in production scheduling, manufacturing planning, inventory control, or production coordination. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and work order management. Experience with ERP or manufacturing software systems. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while managing multiple priorities. Mandatory bilingual English and Spanish and previous experiences in plastic production and paper. Preferred Qualifications Experience in paper, packaging, plastics, or manufacturing industries. Knowledge of Bills of Materials (BOM), production capacity planning, and inventory management. Experience working with production scheduling software or ERP systems.
