Job Description
SP Industries Inc. is hiring for our team in Vineland, NJ and has an immediate opening for an Upright Shrink Operator. The hours for this position are Monday- Thursday on 1st Shift - 4/10s schedule.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform a wide variety of duties involving the preparation activities to shrink Pyrex, Quartz and other types of glass Perform shrink preparation operations on parts to meet customer and/or internal company prints and specifications Read and interpret drawings and specifications that are written in English Use a variety of measuring instruments to ensure parts meet quality levels Execute sustained production in shrink preparation department Maintain a clean and orderly work area Assist the lead in managing the supply of replacement parts supervisor when the need arises for replacement parts, tools and/or supplies Must observe all precautions, rules and regulations related to environmental, health and safety matters (i.e., PPE, properly deposing of wastes, etc.). Maintain quality and production standards Understand BOM's and routersDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS 2-5
years of glass experience Appropriate hand and eye coordination Ability to read blueprints Basic 5S concepts Prior experience working in a team oriented environment Proficient in math Ability to read and speak English Light travel to alternative location (Buena, NJ) as needed High School diploma or GED HSE All employees have the responsibility to work in a safe manner and report any health, safety or environmental concern to their manager or supervisor in a timely manner.
