Utility Production Operator

Utility Production Operator Iron Will Farm Inc.-Dover Plains, NY Iron Will Farm Inc. is a producer of high-quality bagged straw products. We supply our products to organic gardeners, professional landscapers, owners of small livestock, and those working in industrial/commercial operations. Job Summary This position will be primarily responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting the packaging equipment on the production line for processing ag products. Duties and Responsibilities Follow daily processing work orders Set up and adjust packaging machinery by observation and using monitoring equipment and perform quality control methods Assist with the operation of other machinery under close supervision Operate wheel loader to load straw on the front of the line Assist with the packaging at the end of the line as needed Operate forklift to stage finished pallets and load trucks Perform quality checks Achieving production goals while complying with all safety requirements Responsible for following all safety procedures including lockout/tagout and daily equipment inspection Responsible for keeping work area in an orderly condition Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Must be 18 years or older Highly motivated with a good, sound work ethic Must have mechanical knowledge/troubleshooting experience Demonstrated ability to operate tractors/wheel loaders/other heavy equipment Able to safely operate a sit-down forklift Must demonstrate safe working practices and possess great attention to detail Good communication, organization, and time management skills Basic computer, mathematics, and problem-solving skills Ability to use measuring devices (gauges, tapes, rulers) Team player that can follow instructions from both management and peers Willingness to learn and operate new equipment Ability to learn the duties of other employees and fill-in when necessary Ability to take instruction and work cooperatively towards common objective Physical Requirements/Working Conditions Ability to stand and move throughout the production floor for extended periods Frequent walking, bending, and overseeing operations Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment Workers are exposed to both ambient/outside temperatures and dust Working with mechanical parts and pinch points; exposure to increased noise levels.

Pay:

$24.00 - $26.00 per hour
