Job Description

Why this role matters Every safe, on-time case we ship depends on equipment that performs flawlessly. You'll be the specialist who keeps our food production and packaging systems, building utilities, and infrastructure reliable—preventing issues before they happen and responding fast when they do. Your impact Keep production, facility, and utility equipment operating safely and efficiently in a food manufacturing environment. Answer line calls quickly; diagnose faults and share status and downtime expectations with Production and Maintenance Leadership. Own PMs—lubrication, inspections, and adjustments—according to our Preventive Maintenance Program. Resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and basic controls problems across production and facility assets. Disassemble, repair, adjust, and reassemble machinery using safe work practices. Confirm new parts meet OEM specifications and manufacturer tolerances before use.
Support plant utilities:
HVAC, boilers, steam lines, plumbing, electrical systems, and building infrastructure. Schedule and coordinate work to limit production interruptions. Follow safety, quality, GMP, and regulatory standards; maintain clean tools, equipment, and workspaces. Clear lines of all tools and materials prior to startup or restart. Complete accurate work orders, logs, and records within the EFCO work order ticketing system. Track materials and parts consumed; communicate restock needs to Maintenance Leadership. Support team training and assist both Maintenance and Production as priorities evolve. Report any abnormal conditions, hazards, or facility damage immediately. Must-haves Practical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and basic control systems. Experience repairing conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and packaging machinery safely. Understanding of industrial electrical systems, from low-voltage devices (sensors, photo eyes, relays) to high-voltage equipment (motors, panels, disconnects). Background in preventive maintenance and lubrication programs. Working knowledge of HVAC, boilers, steam lines, and plant utilities. Ability to safely disassemble, inspect, adjust, and reassemble equipment. Basic welding, fabrication, and hand-tool skills. Read and follow work orders, SOPs, and safety instructions accurately. Clear communicator with both Maintenance and Production teams. Self-starter who follows escalation procedures with minimal supervision. Qualified to use tools, testing devices, diagnostic equipment, and forklifts (with proper training/certification). Physical realities of the job Extended standing/walking; ability to work in cold and freezer environments. Frequent bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, and stooping; lift up to 50 lbs regularly. Strength, stamina, and dexterity to perform essential tasks safely.
