Starting at $26.96 per hour with a raise to $33.70 upon completion of a 120 working day probationary period Opportunity to bid into higher paying positions after 120 working days.Benefits:

Educational assistance and reimbursement available after a year of service. Finishing/Inspection Operator This position will be assigned to our Faircrest plant in the Billet Conditioning Department. The Conditioning Operator/Inspector operates and monitors charging, inspection, grinder, and saw pulpits and related equipment to process steel products to customer and internal specifications. This position performs visual, dimensional, ultrasonic, and spark testing to ensure product compliance and quality. The role also supports product identification, data entry/tracking, shipment preparation, and routine equipment maintenance. Employees in this position may be required to operate or use equipment such as: radio-controlled cranes (e.g., O.E.T.); mobile equipment; hoists; magnets; chains; pinch bars; inspection equipment; grinder and saw units; auxiliary equipment; optical character readers; ultrasonic testers and couplants; calipers, micrometers, and other precision inspection tools; hand grinders; stamp hammers; pallets/bolsters; and bands/wire and bundling tools. This position requires the ability to work a rotational and flexible shift, andmay include holidays. Manufacturing work environment may include exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures. On-the-job training is provided.Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or GED 1+ year experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment (steel, metals, machining, finishing, inspection, or related heavy manufacturing) Ability to read and interpret work instructions, product specifications, and quality requirements Experience using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, depth gauges) OR demonstrated ability to learn quickly with training Comfortable using computer/data entry systems for material tracking, inspection records, and production reporting Ability to safely perform physical job demands, including: Standing/walking for extended periods Lifting up to 75lbs with/without assistance Working in heat, noise, dust, and around moving equipment (PPE required) Strong attention to detail, quality mindset, and commitment to safe work practices Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and rotating shifts as business needs requirePreferred Requirements:
Prior experience operating grinding and/or saw equipment in a steel or metals environment Experience performing or supporting ultrasonic testing (UT), including setup/calibration, inspection, and documentation Experience with spark testing and interpreting results Qualification/experience operating radio-controlled overhead cranes and material-handling equipment Experience with quality documentation such as inspection reports, tally sheets, heat/lot traceability, and nonconformance handling Mechanical aptitude: experience performing setups, adjustments, troubleshooting, and minor repairs Prior experience providing work direction, training, or mentoring (e.g., leading an attendant/helper) The company prohibits harassment or discrimination against any employee on the basis of any status protected by law, including, but not limited to, race, religion, color, national origin, ancestry, age, disability, genetic information, gender, sex or veteran status.Similar remote jobs
