Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Dimensional Inspector to join our manufacturing quality assurance team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing precise dimensional inspections of machined components and assemblies to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, technical drawings, and industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with measurement instruments, blueprint reading, and quality control processes within a manufacturing environment, particularly in aerospace or precision engineering sectors. Your expertise will directly contribute to maintaining the highest levels of product quality and safety. Responsibilities Conduct detailed dimensional inspections using advanced measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) including PC-DMIS programming. Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings with a strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards. Program and operate CMM equipment to perform complex measurements in accordance with specified quality standards. Verify that machined parts meet strict tolerances outlined by ASME codes & standards, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and AS9100 requirements. Utilize CAD software such as SolidWorks to review design specifications and ensure dimensional accuracy. Document inspection results accurately in compliance with quality assurance protocols and generate detailed reports for review. Collaborate closely with manufacturing teams to identify root causes of dimensional discrepancies and recommend corrective actions. Maintain calibration schedules for measuring instruments and ensure adherence to industry calibration standards. Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing measurement techniques and inspection efficiency. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and quality management systems throughout inspection activities. Skills Extensive experience with dimensional inspection techniques within aerospace or high-precision manufacturing environments. Proficiency in using measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), especially PC-DMIS programming. Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T principles, and technical drawing interpretation. Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks for design review and measurement validation. Understanding of industry standards including ASME codes & standards, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100 for quality management systems. Ability to perform precise measurements adhering to strict tolerances in accordance with quality control procedures. Experience working with machining processes such as CNC programming and manufacturing tooling. Mechanical aptitude combined with excellent attention to detail and analytical skills. Knowledge of calibration procedures for precision measurement tools and instruments. Effective communication skills for reporting inspection findings clearly and collaborating across teams.
