The ideal candidate takes pride in producing exceptional workmanship and understands that every finished product represents the quality and reputation of CGS Imaging. Success in this role requires strong sewing skills, attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, teamwork, and a commitment to safety, quality, and on-time production. Essential Responsibilities
- Sew silicone edge graphics (SEG), banners, flags, backlit graphics, fabric displays, pillowcase graphics, table covers, tension fabric systems, and other specialty textile products.
- Read and interpret work orders, production drawings, measurements, and customer specifications to ensure accurate production.
- Measure, align, pin, cut, and assemble fabric components to exact specifications.
- Operate industrial sewing machines and related finishing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Produce clean, straight, and durable seams that meet CGS Imaging's quality standards.
- Inspect finished products for proper dimensions, seam quality, alignment, cleanliness, and overall workmanship.
- Identify and correct quality issues before products move to packaging or shipping.
- Assist with trimming, packaging, labeling, kitting, and staging completed products for shipment or installation.
- Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of sewing equipment and workstations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all company safety procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, waste reduction, and customer satisfaction.
- Perform additional duties and assist other production departments as workload requires.
Equipment may include:
- Industrial straight stitch sewing machines
- Walking foot sewing machines
- Sergers and specialty sewing equipment
- Fabric cutting and measuring tools
- Heat knives and trimming equipment
- Material handling and packaging systems Qualifications Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating industrial sewing equipment or demonstrated commercial sewing skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong measuring and basic math skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to prioritize work while maintaining productivity and quality. Preferred
- Experience sewing large-format fabric graphics, SEG products, banners, upholstery, awnings, marine canvas, apparel, or commercial textiles.
- Experience reading production drawings or manufacturing work orders.
- Familiarity with textile finishing methods and commercial sewing techniques.
- Experience working in a graphics, sign, display, or print manufacturing environment. Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Lift and maneuver materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Perform repetitive hand and arm movements while sewing, measuring, cutting, trimming, and handling fabric.
- Work with large fabric panels and completed display graphics.
