Karman Space & Defense is a leader in the rapid design, development, and production of critical, next-generation system solutions that align with the U.S. Department of War and its allies core mission priorities, and meet the accelerating demand for access to space. Building on nearly 50 years of success, we deliver Payload & Protection Systems, Aero/Hydrodynamic Interstage Systems, and Propulsion & Launch Systems to more than 80 prime contractors supporting over 130 space and defense programs.

As a Press Operator, you will support the production of drawn and forged components by setting up and operating hydraulic presses, lathes, and related equipment. Your work helps ensure components meet strict specifications and quality standards, supporting reliable, mission-critical systems across our Space and Launch programs. This role is hands-on and central to delivering precision hardware that meets demanding operational and performance requirements.

ResponsibilitiesOperates double-acting and hydraulic presses to produce drawn and forged products.

Operates manual and computer numerical control (CNC) lathes to support machining needs.

Operates belt and disc sanders, die sets, part washers, vibratory machines, and other cleaning equipment.

Applies specialized lubrication during forming and manufacturing processes.

Uses precision measuring hand tools to verify part dimensions.

Maintains a clean and safe work area by following established safety practices.

Operates forklifts to load, unload, and move tooling and materials.

Follows verbal and written instructions to complete production tasks.

Supports continuous workflow by performing repetitive movements as required.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent experience.

Mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively.

Physical RequirementsConstant standing, walking, or sitting for at least 10 hours.

Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying up to 50 lbs, with a minimum of 35 lbs.

Prolonged periods of repetitive movement.

Constant holding, grasping, turning, or working with hands. The essential functions of this position must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
