General Production Worker Job Description The General Production Worker operates in a high-volume manufacturing environment, handling truck parts through a repetitive process of retrieving, buffing or polishing with a sander, inspecting for quality, and returning parts for the next stage of production. This role requires strong attention to detail and consistency to ensure each part meets quality standards. Responsibilities Retrieve truck parts from boxes and prepare them for processing. Buff and polish parts using a sander and other deburring or grinding tools as needed. Inspect each part carefully to ensure it meets quality and safety standards. Return finished parts to the appropriate location and move promptly to the next part in the production sequence. Perform highly repetitive production tasks with consistent accuracy and efficiency. Handle materials and components safely, including lifting parts up to 50 lbs. Operate or work around general production machinery and industrial equipment in a safe manner. Maintain a clean and organized work area in an industrial metals manufacturing environment. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, particularly when working around foundry and industrial equipment. Support overall production goals by meeting daily output and quality targets. Essential Skills Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or construction environment. Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining high attention to detail. Comfort working in a warmer industrial environment, particularly during summer months. Ability to lift and handle parts weighing up to 50 lbs. Basic material handling skills, including moving and positioning parts and components. Ability to work safely around industrial equipment in a foundry or production setting. Reliability and consistency in following established production processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with deburring, grinding, or polishing metal parts. Familiarity with machine operation in a manufacturing environment. Experience in a foundry or automotive parts production setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clackamas, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
