Handle Shop Tech I Are you hands-on, detail-oriented, and looking to build your skills in precision manufacturing? We are hiring a full-time, hourly Handle Shop Tech I to join our production team. In this role, you will work directly with specialized machinery to shape, finish, and prep high-quality knife components while maintaining our standard of excellence.
What You'll Do Operate Specialized Equipment:
Run belt sanders for shaping knife handles, operate buffing machines, and use bead blasting equipment.
Drive Production:
Process manufacturing orders accurately and efficiently while following detailed process instructions and production timelines.
Material Routing & Workflow:
Accurately route raw materials, work-in-process items, and accompanying paperwork to downstream production areas.
Maintain Quality & Workspace:
Ensure all finished work meets strict quality standards, adhere to all safety protocols, and keep an organized, clean work area.
Grow Your Skills:
Learn new production techniques inside and outside the shop, and assist with annual physical inventory counts.
What We're Looking ForExperience:
High school diploma or GED with at least 6 months of experience or training in a production environment (machine shop or metal fabrication experience is a strong plus).
Technical & Math Aptitude:
Solid foundation in basic math (fractions, decimals, and standard units of measurement) and strong attention to detail. Software experience with inventory or work order tracking systems is a bonus.
Communication & Mindset:
Self-motivated, collaborative, eager to learn, and able to communicate clearly and respectfully across teams.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand/walk for 10 hours a day (occasionally up to 12 hours), lift up to 50 lbs, and work comfortably around moving mechanical parts with good depth perception and close vision.
