Job Description

Seeking 1st shift Operators for a Packaging company in Columbia, PA.

TRAINING

: 7am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday

AFTER TRAINING

: 8:30pm-7am, Monday-Friday

•Mandatory OT as needed, including during the week and Saturdays

DUTIES:

Follow established safety rules, policies and procedures at all times Monitor product quality and ensure that the quality control systems are being utilized properly Ensure that all safety guards are in place and operate properly on the machine Assist in maintaining discipline of assigned operators; make recommendations/report observations to supervisors Drive production and efficiency of assigned machine center Assist in training new associates to safely perform their duties in the most efficient way possible while upholding the highest quality standards Maintain machine to ensure all preventative maintenance has been completed by the scheduled time Recommend changes in methods, equipment, material handling and similar projects for improvements in efficiencies or standards of practice Operate printing presses and/or die cutters to make a variety of corrugated products Ensure that equipment is clean and organized Become knowledgeable of paper properties, setting up a press and managing colors Promote morale and wellness of Crew Members Other tasks as assigned by supervisor Full-time role in a manufacturing plant/warehouse setting

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED preferred Ability to understand and follow both verbal and written instructions Ability to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy Works well with others in a team setting Shows dependability on the job - willingness and ability to work overtime Quality and results oriented Demonstrates a professional attitude and even-tempered response through interactions with others Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or graphic form Ability to solve problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations
