Job Description
General Production Worker Job Description This role involves performing a variety of general production and assembly tasks in a manufacturing environment that produces data racks and cabinets for electronics and data centers. You will work with hand and power tools, follow blueprints and specifications, and support multiple departments such as assembly, grinding, machine operation, quality control, and packing. The position requires consistent physical activity, attention to detail, and flexibility to move between different areas of the shop as production needs change. Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, drawings, and flat layouts to perform accurate assembly work. Fit parts together and fasten them to cabinets using appropriate tools and methods. Bolt, staple, or screw parts together using hand tools such as pliers, wrenches, pneumatic screwdrivers, and drills. Insert components such as casters and scuff plates into designated holes or slots in cabinets. Bend fastening devices and fit interlocking parts together using a hammer, rubber mallet, or by striking parts against the floor or workbench. Apply touch-up paint to cabinets using a brush or spray gun to ensure a quality finish. Assist on the small powder line when needed to support production flow. Work in other areas of the shop, including machine operation, grinding, quality control, and packing, as production demands require. Inspect parts and cabinets to ensure they are free from scratches, dents, and other defects before moving them to the next stage. Move material using a hand truck or fork truck in a safe and controlled manner. Follow English written and oral instructions and adhere to all safety and quality procedures. Perform frequent physical functions such as standing, walking, sitting, bending, pushing, pulling, and grasping throughout the shift. Lift up to 50 pounds on a regular daily basis as part of normal job duties. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in assembly, mechanical assembly, or electrical assembly. Experience in grinding or machine operation in a manufacturing setting. Exposure to quality control processes and documentation. Familiarity with blueprint reading in a production or fabrication environment. Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mechanical and electrical components. Experience with forklift operation or material handling equipment. Experience in CNC operation or related machine operation. Flexibility to move between different departments based on production needs. Strong work ethic, punctuality, and ability to present yourself professionally during tours and orientation. Work Environment The role is based in a traditional shop environment that is relatively clean but can be loud due to production equipment and activity. Temperatures can be higher in the summer, especially in the powder coating department, so you should be comfortable working in warm conditions. First shift typically runs from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and third shift runs from 6:30 p.m. Sunday night through Friday morning, with the expectation of working 50+ hours per week and potential Saturdays as needed. Weekly tours occur on Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and these tours serve as part of the interview process, where punctuality and professional presentation are important. Orientation takes place on Mondays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; first-shift employees continue working after orientation, while night-shift employees return for their scheduled shift in the evening and are paid for a full eight-hour day. Normal workwear includes jeans without holes and a standard T-shirt, combined with steel-toed boots or shoes. Safety glasses and ear plugs are provided to support a safe and compliant working environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Corry, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.50 - $18.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
