Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Production Planning & Supply Chain Assistant to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will support the coordination of production schedules, manage inventory levels, updating ERP systems, and streamline supply chain operations to ensure seamless manufacturing processes. Your proactive approach will help optimize resource utilization, improve forecasting accuracy, and enhance overall supply chain efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced manufacturing environment where your organizational skills and technical knowledge will drive operational excellence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Scheduling Support:
Assists the Materials Manager in creating and distributing production schedules and work orders to departments. Updates workorder status in ERP system. Assists with materials planning process (MRP) and updates ERP system accordingly.
Production Support:
Assists Operations Manager with shop floor scheduling, workorder distribution/assignments, etc.
Inventory & Material Tracking:
Coordinates with purchasing team and vendors to ensure materials are available. Monitors inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods. Monitors the accuracy of the inventory.
Purchasing:
Assists purchasing department with RFQ's, purchase order creation, and communication with vendors as needed.
Data Management & Reporting:
Updates ERP system (workorders, purchase orders, etc).
Problem-Solving:
Responds to last-minute scheduling changes, machine failures, or material shortages to minimize downtime. Analyzing workflow bottlenecks and implementing Lean Manufacturing techniques for continuous improvement.
Administrative Support:
Prepares reports on OTD (On-Time Delivery) and KPIs for production meetings.
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Technical Proficiency:
Knowledge of ERP software (e.g., VISUAL, SAP), Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and inventory systems.
Communication:
Effective interpersonal skills to coordinate between different departments and external vendors.
Organization & Multitasking:
Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines simultaneously.
Problem-Solving:
Critical thinking to address sudden production stoppages or logistical issues. Attention to
Detail:
Meticulous tracking of inventory, orders, and quality standards.
Education:
A high school diploma is required. Prefer a bachelor's degree in manufacturing technology or industrial engineering or Supply Chain. Recent college graduates interested in pursuing a career in Operations and/or Supply Chain Management are encouraged to apply.
Pay:
From $23.00 per hour
