$19.00 per hour Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Production Operator for a 100% Perfect Inspection role in a wood manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for inspecting assembled products, identifying and repairing defects, documenting quality issues, and ensuring that all products meet established quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, the ability to follow written instructions, and a commitment to lean manufacturing and workplace safety. Key Responsibilities Inspect products for defects and take appropriate action according to work instructions. Monitor product quality for consistency throughout the production process. Perform measurements and weight checks using tools such as a tape measure and caliper. Inspect doors according to customer and quality specifications, with a strong focus on quality and safety. Perform visual quality checks of entire product stacks. Repair newly identified and previously identified door defects. Repair defective components to create usable raw materials. Straighten doors and restack products that meet quality specifications. Document repaired materials accurately. Place unrepairable doors and raw materials in designated cull stacks. Complete reject sheets accurately for tickets requiring remakes. Read and interpret production tickets, list counts, customer specifications, and schedules. Complete required paperwork correctly and on time. Gather materials as needed for production and repair activities. Use push carts and push pallets on conveyors as needed. Assist Management, Maintenance, and Quality personnel with troubleshooting material issues. Practice Lean Manufacturing techniques, including 5S+1. Communicate effectively with coworkers and leadership to maintain product flow and quality. Use hand tools and repair materials, including: Glue guns Palm sanders Sanding blocks Wood chisels Putty knives Clamps Bondo Hot melt glue Touch-up paint Putty Wear required personal protective equipment. Follow all safety rules, procedures, and work instructions. Perform housekeeping duties and maintain a clean, organized work area. Complete other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge and Skills Basic reading and writing skills. Ability to read and interpret production tickets and customer quality specifications. Ability to identify product defects. Ability to add and subtract fractions and whole numbers and convert fractions to decimals. Knowledge of common hand tools, including sanders, putty knives, sanding blocks, and wood chisels. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, and leadership. Ability to follow schedules, written instructions, and safety procedures. Previous manufacturing, warehouse, inspection, or woodworking experience is helpful but not required. Physical Requirements and Work Environment Ability to stand and walk throughout the entire shift. Ability to bend, twist, and stoop frequently throughout the workday. Ability to push, pull, lift, and occasionally carry up to 50 pounds with assistance. Ability to work in a warehouse setting. Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment. Ability to work in a wood manufacturing environment. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment for the duration of the shift.
