Job Description

THIS IS A 2ND SHIFT POSITION - HOURS ARE
2pm - 12:30pm M-TH This position earns $1.50 an hour shift premium Job function
  • Assist company management in accomplishing production schedules & goals
  • Understands metal stamping process and measuring methods, uses professional discipline and judgment to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • The Operator is accountable for ensuring that assigned production for shift is executed, assisting fellow employees, and making quality products Primary responsibilities
  • Understand work instructions, read blueprints and use initiative to follow the production schedule
  • Strictly follow company quality procedures to always protect the company's interest
  • Ensure safety procedures are properly followed and use protective equipment where necessary in performing daily work
  • Carry-out maintenance as required on machines/auxiliary equipment
  • Request raw materials from the warehouse through SAP
  • Assist Press Setters in daily operations as directed
  • Record tooling changes, and adjustments in RQM remarks
  • Accurately record tooling removal from inventory in tool tower
  • Ensure that the Supervisor is aware of items which need ordered
  • Work with the Supervisor and Setter to verify print correctness of items being ordered
  • Consult with Supervisors or Press Setters about quality issues and assist in resolving problems
  • Measure and evaluate product to maintain visual and dimensional requirements against customer print
  • Use gages, SPC principles and RQM inspection plans to manage the process
  • Support plant activities in maintaining quality registration of
IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 13485
  • Support process improvement activities as directed by management
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping throughout the plant following 5S principles Additional Responsibilities
  • Work well with others in a team environment, assist colleagues where required to maintain production
  • Assist in training new employees as needed
  • Recommend preventative solutions to eliminate defects in new or existing products Essential skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Requires basic math and computer skills
  • Must be able to organize and prioritize work in a multi-tasking environment
  • Deep Drawn and Progressive metal stamping background with small to medium size presses strongly preferred Physical demands
  • Duties include and are not limited to: see, talk, stand, walk, lift, twist and bend
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibrations and hazardous materials
  • Must be able to lift and/or move 25 lbs.
and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
