Competitive Pay Based on Experience Summary of Job Under the direction of the Shift Supervisor, the Utility team member plays a critical role in supporting production operations by ensuring press crews have the materials, consumables, and resources needed to maximize productivity and efficiency. This position is responsible for maintaining inventory of production consumables, preparing make-ready materials, supporting housekeeping and 5S initiatives, and ensuring work areas remain clean, organized, and safe. The ideal candidate is hands-on, mechanically inclined, dependable, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Overview The Utility team member supports production by preparing materials for machine setups, maintaining consumable inventories, assisting press crews, managing inventory organization, and ensuring production areas meet safety and housekeeping standards. This position serves as an important support function that helps maintain operational efficiency and minimizes production downtime. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Prepare and stage make-ready materials for upcoming production jobs, including mounting plates, glue pads, and related consumables. Ensure all required materials are gathered and available at the press prior to the start of machine setup and changeovers. Maintain press roller and cylinder inventory by ensuring rollers are cleaned, organized, and ready for use. Coordinate timely reconditioning and repair of used rollers. Maintain bearing inventories and other production consumables used throughout the pressroom. Support plant-wide housekeeping and 5S initiatives through assigned cleaning and organization projects. Maintain solvent, glue, oil, and consumable storage areas in a safe, organized, and compliant manner. Ensure waste materials, oils, and other products are properly contained, labeled, packaged, and prepared for disposal or pickup. Organize and maintain warehouse inventory areas for new and used consumables. Change glue totes and support adhesive systems as required. Assist press crews with obtaining materials, supplies, and consumables needed to maintain production flow. Participate in training, cross-training, and apprenticeship opportunities to support personal and professional development. Maintain accurate inventory levels and notify leadership of low-stock items. Follow all safety policies, procedures, and work rules. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards and promote a clean and organized workplace. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Experience in a manufacturing, converting, printing, packaging, or similar production environment preferred. Experience working with adhesives, glue systems, or production materials preferred. Experience using hand tools and performing basic mechanical adjustments preferred. Experience supporting machine setups, changeovers, or production line operations preferred. Demonstrated stability, reliability, and strong attendance record in previous employment. Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of materials up to 50 pounds. Ability to work on feet for extended periods. Ability to safely work around manufacturing equipment and production machinery.
Position Type Full-Time Night Shift:
6:00 PM - 6:00 AM Rotating 2-2-3 Schedule Overtime required based on business needs Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Previous manufacturing, printing, converting, packaging, warehouse, or production experience preferred. Experience supporting production operations, inventory management, or machine setup activities preferred. Basic mechanical aptitude and experience working with tools preferred. Compensation The listed hourly base pay range is estimated and may vary based on experience, skills, qualifications, performance, and demonstrated competencies. Base pay is one component of Pregis's total compensation package. Compensation details listed in U.S. job postings reflect base pay only and do not include benefits.
