Milam and Greene Whiskey seeks an experienced Distillery Operator to assist with the production of high quality whiskeys. Duties include but are not limited to mashing, fermenting, distilling, batching and blending barrels, packaging, and cleaning. Ideal candidates will have previous distilled spirits experience.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Operation and maintenance of distillery equipment including steam boiler, mash tank, fermentation tanks, stills, pumps, chillers, etc. Filling, harvesting, and handling whiskey barrels. Batching, blending, and processing whiskey for packaging. Occasionally assist on packaging line. Maintain plant sanitation and cleanliness. Adhere to company standard operating procedures. Receipt, storage, and handling of raw materials.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 1 Year of distilling experience. Must be able to stand for 8-10 hours per day and the ability to lift items up to 50 pounds. Problem solving and the ability to work without immediate oversight. Prior forklift experience a plus. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must be capable of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and completing repetitive motions. Detail-oriented, highly organized, self-starter with a demonstrated ability to exercise accountability and responsibility. Ability to work in hot/cold environments.
