Job Description

  • Job Title: Data Entry Associate
  • Job Description
  • This role supports the powder coater shop by accurately logging and entering all paint department orders and PPW details in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will perform high-volume data entry and clerical tasks, ensuring information is complete, organized, and easily accessible for production and administrative teams.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Log and enter all orders and PPW details for the paint department with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

+ Perform daily data entry tasks for the powder coater shop throughout the entire shift.

+ Use Microsoft Excel and Outlook to input, track, and update production and administrative information.

+ Handle clerical and administrative support tasks, including order entry, filing, scanning, and email communication.

+ Maintain accurate inventory-related data and support documentation for materials and production.

+ Provide customer service support as needed, responding to internal inquiries promptly and professionally.

+ Assist the manager with additional duties as requested to support shop operations and administrative needs.

+ Ensure all computer-based records are complete, organized, and updated in a timely manner.

+ Follow established procedures and guidelines to maintain data integrity and confidentiality.

+ Collaborate with shop personnel, including machine operators, fabricators, QC, material handlers, and managers, to gather and verify information.

+ Work effectively in a busy, fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage a high workload over extended shifts.

+ Adhere to all safety, dress code, and workplace policies while performing data entry and clerical tasks on the shop floor.

  • Essential Skills
  • + At least 1 year of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

+ Strong data entry skills with the ability to type accurately for extended periods.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data entry and basic spreadsheet tasks.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook for email communication and scheduling.

+ General proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer-based administrative tools.

+ Ability and willingness to perform PPW-related data entry tasks five days a week for the entire shift.

+ Experience with clerical tasks such as order entry, filing, scanning, and administrative support.

+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling production and administrative data.

+ Effective communication and customer service skills in a professional setting.

+ Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage high workloads.

  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • + Comfort working closely with production teams, including machine operators, fabricators, QC, and material handlers.

+ Ability to prioritize tasks and stay organized in a busy shop environment.

+ Willingness to assist management with a variety of administrative and operational duties.

+ Strong general computer skills and confidence navigating different software applications.

+ Reliability and flexibility to work extended hours when needed, commonly 50-60 hours per week.

  • Work Environment
  • The role is based in a medium-sized, very clean and organized shop that is one of several facilities.

The environment is non-climate-controlled with open bay doors and numerous fans to promote airflow. It is a busy, fast-paced production shop with around 15 people per shift, including 5-7 machine operators, 5-6 fabricators, quality control staff, material handlers, managers, and future powder coaters. The position is on night shift, Monday through Friday, 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., with workweeks commonly ranging from 50 to 60 hours; it is extremely rare to work only 40 hours. (Day shift operates with similar hours for reference.) The dress code includes steel-toe footwear, jeans, a work shirt, and safety glasses, reflecting the manufacturing and shop-floor setting.

  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $18.

00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
