Job Summary Lyssy & Eckel is looking for a dependable, safety-minded Production Operator to join our Poth manufacturing team. This position will split time between raw ingredient handling and feed mill operations. A primary responsibility will be operating tractors and other material-handling equipment to retrieve raw ingredients from storage areas, including silo bags, and move those ingredients to receiving pits for use in the batching and manufacturing process. The employee will also operate and monitor machinery throughout the feed mill and assist with production, ingredient handling, quality checks, housekeeping, and other operational needs. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in manufacturing, heavy equipment operation, agriculture, feed milling, or another industrial environment. Experience operating tractors, loaders, forklifts, or similar equipment is strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities Safely operate tractors, loaders, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment as trained and authorized. Retrieve raw ingredients from silo bags and other storage areas. Transport and stage raw ingredients at receiving pits for batching and production. Assist with receiving, storing, organizing, and rotating raw ingredient inventory. Safely operate and monitor feed mill and production machinery. Assist with batching, processing, packaging, and handling feed products as needed. Monitor equipment and recognize when machinery is not operating properly. Perform routine production and quality checks. Follow production instructions to help ensure the correct ingredients and products are handled properly. Complete required equipment inspections and report mechanical problems, damage, or unsafe conditions. Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout the mill and ingredient-storage areas. Sweep and remove spilled feed, ingredients, dust, and other materials as necessary. Follow company safety procedures, equipment operating instructions, and feed-safety requirements. Assist coworkers and other production areas as needed to keep operations running efficiently. Qualifications Previous experience in one or more of the following areas is strongly preferred: Manufacturing or industrial production Heavy equipment or tractor operation Feed mills or grain handling Agriculture or livestock operations Forklift or material-handling equipment Warehousing or raw-material handling Machine or industrial equipment operation Mechanical or other hands-on industrial work Candidates should also have: Reliable attendance and punctuality. Strong commitment to workplace safety. Ability to safely operate equipment and work around moving machinery. Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability. Ability to recognize and communicate equipment or production problems. Ability to follow instructions and established procedures. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to learn multiple areas of feed manufacturing. Ability to remain alert and work safely throughout extended shifts. Previous heavy-equipment experience is strongly preferred. Feed mill experience is helpful but not required. Physical Requirements Candidates must be able to: Repeatedly lift, push, pull, and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Safely climb into, operate, and exit tractors, loaders, forklifts, and other equipment. Stand, walk, bend, reach, stoop, and perform physical work throughout the shift. Climb stairs and ladders as required. Work safely around industrial machinery, trucks, forklifts, tractors, and mobile equipment. Work indoors and outdoors in conditions that may be dusty, noisy, hot, cold, or affected by weather. Wear required personal protective equipment and follow all company safety procedures.
