Spherion Staffing and Recruiting is hiring dedicated Sander Helpers to join an active manufacturing environment in Temple, Texas. This position offers full-time hours, predictable shifts, and a supportive team structure where safety and quality come first. You will play an essential role in keeping production running smoothly, mastering specialized machinery, and taking pride in building high-quality products every single day.

Responsibilities:

As a Sander Helper, you will work collaboratively with team members to process and prepare laminate products for final delivery.

Your primary daily responsibilities include:
Material Preparation:

Retrieve pressed materials from the holding area, operate table lifts, and position sheets for processing.

Machine Operation:

Load laminate into the sander, activate feed lines, perform edge routing, cut materials to specific dimensions, and adjust controls as needed.

Quality Assurance:

Perform continuous visual inspections to identify pattern defects or imperfections, pulling substandard items to the defect table to maintain high quality standards. ...

Post-Processing & Handling:

Lay off completed sheets to the finishing table, move finished products to the holding area, and replace work tables to maintain production flow.

Documentation & Safety:

Track material waste, update production logs, follow Lock-Out/Tag-Out safety procedures, and conduct basic preventative maintenance checks.

Teamwork & Training:

Help train team members, ensure proper protective equipment is worn, and maintain a safe and productive workspace Working hours: 7:00 AM - 5:00

PM Skills:

Experience operating lift trucks or similar industrial equipment. Familiarity with micrometers or precise measuring tools. Ability to distinguish between subtle color shades and visual patterns. Basic computer literacy or willingness to learn machine monitoring software. Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

Education:
High School Experience:

1-4 years

Qualifications:

At least one year of steady work history. Ability to read a tape measure accurately. Basic mathematics skills, including addition and subtraction. Ability to follow verbal and written directions reliably. Strong safety awareness and commitment to workplace safety protocols.
