Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented General Labor / Welder Hand to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting metal fabrication projects, performing welding tasks, and assisting with various construction and assembly activities on-site. Your mechanical knowledge, precision measurement skills, and adherence to safety protocols will ensure the successful completion of high-quality work in a fast-paced environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in welding, fabrication, and construction while contributing to impactful projects. Responsibilities Assist with the setup and preparation of materials for fabrication and welding tasks using hand tools and power tools Perform various welding techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) according to project specifications and AWS (American Welding Society) standards Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and shop drawings to accurately fabricate metal components Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, measuring tapes, and shop math to ensure precise dimensions and tolerances Operate fabrication equipment including plasma cutters, pipe threading tools, soldering irons, and gas metal arc welding machines Support the assembly of fabricated parts following ASME codes & standards and safety protocols Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety procedures at all times Experience Prior construction site experience or metal fabrication shop experience preferred Familiarity with blueprint reading, technical drawing interpretation, and mechanical blueprint comprehension Hands-on experience with welding techniques: MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, pipe threading, plasma cutting, soldering, and assembly processes Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and shop math confidently Mechanical knowledge related to metal materials, sheet metal fabrication, mechanical fabrication processes, and safety standards Experience working with power tools and hand tools in a fast-paced environment is highly desirable Join our team if you're eager to build your expertise in welding and fabrication while working on impactful projects that require precision craftsmanship.
