Utility Worker (Contract) Job Description This contract Utility Worker role involves operating minor production equipment and performing small assembly tasks in a clean, general production environment. You support day-to-day operations by handling materials, loading items, and assisting with basic construction and assembly activities as needed. Responsibilities Operate minor production equipment safely and efficiently according to established procedures. Perform small assembly tasks with a focus on accuracy and quality. Handle materials throughout the production area, including loading and moving items as directed. Assist with general production operations, supporting continuous workflow on the floor. Carry out basic construction-related tasks that support assembly and production processes. Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety and efficiency. Follow all safety guidelines and work instructions provided during training and on the job. Inspect work for accuracy and completeness, demonstrating strong attention to detail. Collaborate with team members and communicate clearly with supervisors regarding task status and any issues. Adapt to changing priorities and production needs while meeting daily performance expectations. Essential Skills Experience in general production or manufacturing environments. Ability to perform basic assembly tasks accurately and efficiently. Material handling skills, including loading and moving items safely. Familiarity with operating minor equipment in a production setting. Basic construction or hands-on mechanical aptitude. Strong attention to detail when completing tasks and inspecting work. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions reliably. Capacity to work on your feet and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience as a general production operator or utility worker is beneficial. Comfort working with hand tools or simple production equipment. Reliability and consistent attendance, especially during training and assigned shifts. Willingness to learn new tasks and adapt to different duties on the production floor. Work Environment The role is based in a clean, non-climate-controlled production facility. Initial training takes place Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., providing a structured introduction to equipment, processes, and safety practices. You work in a general production area with minor equipment and assembly stations, collaborating closely with other team members in a practical, hands-on setting. Dress code typically aligns with standard production attire focused on safety and comfort, suitable for a manufacturing environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Trenton, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
