Job Description Job Description Summary:
The PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) Engineer is responsible for overseeing the design, development, and optimization of printed circuit board assembly processes. This role ensures high-quality, cost-effective, and efficient production of electronic assemblies, working closely with design, manufacturing, and quality teams.
Responsibilities:
Develop and optimize PCBA manufacturing processes including SMT (Surface Mount Technology), THT (Through-Hole Technology), reflow soldering, final inspection and testing. Program and optimize SMT and auxiliary equipment including, pick and place, reflow ovens AOI, wave solder and conformal coating. Provide input on design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for test (DFT) during product development. Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and assembly guidelines. Diagnose and repair equipment as needed to maintain production flow. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, mechanical and project engineers, to complete projects and production issues on schedule. Analyze project requirements and developing plans for implementation of production. Initiate and approve manufacturing documentation and ECO's. Assist in new business development and production quote process. Train production staff in proper operation of newly installed equipment. Analyze production capacity, resource requirements and manufacturing constrained to develop and support production plans. Support NPI (New Product Introduction) and prototype builds. Ensure compliance with IPC standards. Interface with suppliers and contract manufacturers to resolve technical issues.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or a combination of education and experience. 2 - 3 years in a manufacturing environment. Proficient with Microsoft products. Familiarity and understanding of
ISO 9001
2015 quality systems. Previous experience with electro/mechanical assembly, PCB or cable harness desired, Able to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
