Job Title:

Assistant Grave Shift Job Description This role focuses on packaging and wrapping finished aerospace products while supporting various production activities on the grave shift. You will work as part of a collaborative team in a high-volume manufacturing environment, with the opportunity to cross-train in masking and other metal finishing processes. High-performing employees may be considered for long-term roles in anodizing, plating, or masking within a well-established aerospace-focused operation. Responsibilities Package and wrap finished aerospace products accurately and securely according to written instructions and established procedures. Follow detailed written instructions and work orders to ensure products meet quality and customer requirements. Assist with masking parts and support cross-training activities in both packaging and masking areas. Operate basic production and manufacturing equipment, including machines used in a fast-paced production facility. Support general shop duties outside of the warehouse, including cleaning, organizing, and maintaining a safe and orderly work area. Work collaboratively with team members and provide support wherever needed across the production floor. Handle materials safely and efficiently, using proper techniques and following all safety guidelines. Maintain productivity and quality standards while working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. If certified, operate a forklift to move materials and products as needed to support production and logistics. Essential Skills Ability to read and follow written instructions accurately. Previous experience working in a fast-paced production facility. Willingness to perform additional shop duties outside of warehouse tasks, including clean up and general support. Machine operator experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Strong teamwork skills and the ability to assist in different areas as needed. Attention to detail when packaging, wrapping, and handling finished products. Additional Skills & Qualifications Forklift certification is a plus and may be used to support material handling needs. Experience in manufacturing, general labor, assembly, or production is highly beneficial. Interest in learning and cross-training in masking, anodizing, plating, or other metal finishing processes. Comfort working in a structured, process-driven environment that follows Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement practices. Work Environment The role is based in a spacious, modern plating and metal finishing facility that supports a full range of processing services in one location, simplifying logistics and improving lead times for customers. The operation provides specialized metal finishing, non-destructive testing, plating, anodizing, and organic coating services for aerospace, defense, industrial, recreational, commercial, and electronics markets. Common processes in the facility include mechanical operations such as shot peen, polishing, and abrasive blasting; aluminum processing including multiple anodize chemistries, chemical conversion coating, and hard anodize; electrolytic plating such as chrome, titanium cadmium, cadmium, zinc-nickel, and other finishes; coatings and paints including primers, fuel tank coatings, topcoats, dry lubricants, and intumescent coatings; and non-destructive testing such as fluorescent penetrant, magnetic particle, and nital etch. Additional capabilities include zinc spray, magnesium processing, and passivation. The environment operates as a fast-paced production setting with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement practices embedded in daily work. Employees can expect to work around industrial equipment, metal finishing lines, and testing areas, with safety procedures and protective equipment guiding day-to-day activities. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kent, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.60 - $19.60/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
