Job Title:
General Production Worker Job Description This role focuses on packaging food products on a production line, preparing them for shipment to multiple distribution facilities. You will handle products, organize totes, maintain a clean and sanitized work area, and support efficient inventory flow with minimal computer use. Responsibilities Work on the production line to package food products accurately and efficiently. Place packaged products into totes and prepare them for loading onto trucks serving multiple facilities. Palletize totes safely and securely to ensure stable and organized shipments. Dispose of cardboard and other packaging waste in a safe and orderly manner. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized area on the production floor in accordance with food safety standards. Monitor and keep track of inventory as products move through the packaging and shipping process. Use proper lifting techniques when handling items weighing 40+ pounds. Collaborate with team members to ensure production goals and quality standards are met. Follow all safety procedures, including the use of required personal protective equipment and adherence to facility traffic rules. Essential Skills Experience in packing, production, or packaging environments. Ability to perform repetitive packing and packaging tasks with high attention to detail. Strong organizational skills to keep products, totes, and work areas orderly. Ability to track inventory and product flow accurately. Capability to lift and move items weighing 40+ pounds safely. Basic math skills to support counting, tracking, and organizing products. Comfort working with minimal computer use throughout the day. Reliability in following safety and cleanliness standards in a food production setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in picking, lifting, or warehouse operations. Familiarity with food or beverage production environments. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production line setting. Work Environment The position is based on a production floor in a food and beverage environment. Available shifts include a 10:00 a.m. start time with no fixed end time, and a 2:00 p.m. start time with no fixed end time, both running Monday through Thursday. The facility operates with active forklift traffic, and team members must remain aware of their surroundings at all times. Slip-resistant shoes are required due to working with food and beverages, and a high-visibility shirt is required because forklifts operate throughout the facility. The work involves standing for extended periods, repetitive motions on the production line, and regular lifting of items over 40 pounds in a structured, safety-focused setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Evansville, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
