Job Description

Overview Open for a 2nd or 3rd shift Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Set-Up Technician and Compact Press Operator, where you'll play a vital role in preparing and operating high-precision machinery to produce top-quality sheet metal components. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work with advanced fabrication equipment, ensuring efficient production flow while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. Duties Set up and calibrate compact presses, CNC laser cutting machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and other fabrication equipment to meet production specifications. Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) to ensure precise machining and assembly. Operate hand tools, welding equipment, stamping presses, plasma cutters, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and press brake machines for fabrication tasks. Perform routine inspections using calipers, micrometers, precision measuring instruments, and quality inspection techniques to verify dimensions and adherence to specifications. Utilize forklifts and cranes safely to move raw materials, sheet metal, tooling, and finished parts within the workspace. Troubleshoot machine issues promptly by applying mechanical knowledge and machining expertise to minimize downtime. Maintain detailed records of setup procedures, inspection results, and production logs to ensure traceability and quality control. Requirements Proven experience operating manufacturing machinery such as CNC laser cutters, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, plasma cutters, press brakes, or similar equipment. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret technical drawings including GD&T standards. Proficiency in using hand tools, precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers), and fabrication tools for assembly and quality checks. Ability to operate forklifts and cranes safely; certification preferred but not required. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and machine adjustments. Knowledge of welding techniques and electrical discharge machining (EDM) is a plus. Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes including plasma cutting and tooling setup. Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality inspection standards in manufacturing environments. Pay:
$20.00 - $37.00 per hour
