Punch Press Operator

Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Punch Press Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating punch presses and related machinery to produce high-quality metal components efficiently and safely. Your expertise in machine setup, precision measurement, and technical blueprint interpretation will ensure that production standards are consistently met or exceeded. Duties Set up and operate punch presses, stamping presses, and forming machines to produce metal parts according to technical drawings and specifications Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math to determine proper machine setup and tooling requirements Utilize CNC programming skills to configure laser cutting, plasma cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and CNC laser systems for precise fabrication tasks Conduct quality inspections using measuring instruments and precision measurement tools to ensure parts meet strict tolerances and quality standards Maintain safety standards by adhering to safety protocols during machine operation, setup, and maintenance procedures Perform routine maintenance on machinery, including electrical discharge machining (EDM) equipment and other machining tools Use hand tools and shop math for measuring, fitting, and assembling components as needed during production processes Experience Proven experience operating punch presses, stamping presses, or other metal forming machinery in a manufacturing setting Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately Familiarity with CNC programming, laser cutting (CNC laser), plasma cutting, and machining centers such as CNC milling machines and CNC lathes Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and the ability to follow safety protocols diligently Experience with welding, sheet metal fabrication, and forming machines is a plus Ability to use measuring instruments for quality control purposes with precision measurement skills Basic math skills including shop math necessary for machine setup and measurement verification Join our team if you're passionate about precision machining, metal fabrication, and maintaining the highest safety standards. Pay:
$22.00 - $26.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
