General Production Worker Job Description The general production worker plays a vital role in the final stages of the manufacturing process, ensuring that finished goods meet quality standards and are correctly sorted, labeled, and packaged according to customer specifications. This position requires a detail-oriented and organized individual who is committed to maintaining a safe, efficient, and productive workspace within a busy production environment. Responsibilities Perform final-stage production tasks, including sorting, labeling, and packaging finished goods according to customer specifications. Inspect products to confirm they meet established quality standards before packaging and shipment. Accurately measure materials using a tape measure with precision up to 1/32 of an inch to support production and quality requirements. Handle general labor and production duties as assigned to keep workflow moving efficiently. Maintain an organized work area and follow all safety guidelines to support a safe and efficient production environment. Collaborate with team members and follow instructions from supervisors to meet daily production goals. Identify basic mechanical issues in the production process and report or assist in resolving them using solid mechanical aptitude. Follow established procedures for packaging and labeling to ensure accuracy and consistency across all finished goods. Essential Skills Proven attention to detail in a production, warehouse, or general labor environment. Ability to use a tape measure accurately, including reading measurements down to 1/32 of an inch. Solid mechanical aptitude to understand and support basic production equipment and processes. Capability to perform general production and general labor tasks safely and efficiently. Strong organizational skills to maintain orderly work areas and manage multiple tasks. Commitment to following safety procedures and quality standards at all times. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in inspection and packaging roles within a production or warehouse setting. Background in general production work, including handling materials and operating basic tools or equipment. Ability to work consistently on a straight shift schedule (1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift) as assigned. Willingness to learn and advance to higher operator levels within the production team. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a typical warehouse production setting that is comfortable, well organized, and well lit, though not climate controlled. Employees work on straight shifts, with options including 1st shift (6:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.), 2nd shift (2:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.), and 3rd shift (10:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m., Sunday through Thursday). The environment supports hands-on work with production materials, inspection tasks, and packaging activities, and requires appropriate work attire suitable for a warehouse setting and adherence to all safety guidelines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Neenah, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
