Job Description:
Production Planning
  • Creates jobs in ERP system and supporting job packets; distributes to production based on the master schedule.
  • Coordinates production, with the support of production leaders and the sales team, to ensure the timely completion of jobs.
  • Receive completed work orders into inventory, reviewing for accuracy and make corrections as necessary.
  • Monitors reports as well as production floor feedback to ensure for the timely arrival of materials for production use and the accuracy of jobs in the schedule.
  • Manage/Monitor entry of production activities from each department daily.
  • Process changes to the system from ECN's and manufacturing.
  • Analyze customer forecasts to identify need for job creation.
  • Monitory minimum and maximum levels for stocked manufactured items and release jobs to production as necessary to maintain adequate MOH.
  • Support prioritizing orders at OSP and/or contact vendors/suppliers to meet customer needs.
  • Summarize daily output, track, and communicate actual vs. targeted goal, and advise appropriate personnel of variances in the production schedule, material shortages, or potentially missed deadlines.
  • Assist and support the placement and receiving of PO's.
  • Support the Shipping department as needed. Inventory Control
  • Issue material in system daily including investigating and resolving discrepancies with inventory levels.
  • Maintain an accurate account (both quantity and location) of work in process inventory.
  • Prepare and lead annual physical inventories. Reconciles physical inventories and are responsible for periodic Cycle Counting. Make inventory adjustments as needed.
  • Assesses forecasted demand to ensure safety stock and strategic MOH levels on finished goods are maintained.
  • Support the administration of the Open Order Report to identify values of shipments for the month and the value of late orders for the month, following up on orders to insure they are completed to ship on time. Skills and Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma required; Associate degree in business, supply chain, or other relevant concentration preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years' operations experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Requires knowledge of ERP systems, BOM structure, manufacturing processes, product knowledge and material systems.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • High level of interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with others and communicate effectively with management, customer service, suppliers, manufacturing, and peers across all facilities.
  • Excellent problem solving, project and time management skills.
  • Ability to effectively present verbal and written information and findings to management, customers, peers, direct reports, and suppliers.
  • Strong regard for product quality and safety standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment meet schedules and deadlines with a time driven sense of urgency and ability to multi-task and prioritize.
