We provide innovative, technology-enabled safety solutions to Federal, State, and commercial clients. We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector to provide independent technical review and quality assurance support for a Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Laboratory Safety Evaluation project involving 17 research laboratories at the Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center in McLean, Virginia. Position Summary The Quality Control Inspector will independently review project deliverables to ensure technical accuracy, consistency, and compliance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS), applicable OSHA regulations, and the FHWA Occupational Safety and Health Management Manual. This role is independent of the inspection team and serves as the final quality assurance review before deliverables are submitted to the Government. Primary Responsibilities Perform independent technical reviews of major project deliverables. Verify compliance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS). Review laboratory inspection reports for technical accuracy and completeness. Verify OSHA regulatory citations and compliance requirements. Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) for completeness and consistency. Validate hazard identification, risk rankings, and recommended controls. Confirm alignment with the FHWA Occupational Safety and Health Management Manual. Ensure consistency across laboratory inspection reports and recommendations. Review corrective action recommendations and supporting documentation. Coordinate with the Project Manager to resolve technical comments before final submission. Participate in quality review meetings and technical discussions as needed. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 10 years of Environmental Health & Safety experience. Experience conducting OSHA compliance audits or laboratory safety evaluations. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910). Experience reviewing technical reports and quality assurance documentation. Excellent technical writing and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications One or more of the following certifications is preferred: Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) Master Safety Professional (MSP) Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) Preferred experience includes: Federal government projects Laboratory safety programs Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) Research laboratories Industrial hygiene Regulatory compliance Work Location Hybrid (Remote and Onsite) McLean, Virginia Local travel as required Schedule Approximately 10-15 hours per week Flexible schedule Contract duration: Approximately 12 months Why Join Sybest?
