The company also excels in many other types of reinforced plastics including interior sandwich panels for creating structures such as aircraft galleys and bulkheads, honeycomb core and related products. The Quality Assurance Manager develops and leads the Quality Assurance department to assure that operational processes will provide products that meet required Product Standards as described in AS9100 and internal procedures. Areas of responsibility include Quality Management System, customer feedback, customer surveys, supplier quality performance, quality reporting, internal auditing, root cause corrective actions, quality risk assessments, document control and continuous improvement activities. Reporting to the Director of R D and Quality, this individual will perform but not be limited to the following responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring compliance with AS9100 and Aerospace Industry regulatory requirements. Coordinate customer and accreditation audits. Enhance and manage the internal audit system and conduct internal/process audits. Ensure compliance with internal procedures, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. Interface with customers and suppliers as necessary to resolve any product quality matters. Actively monitor and respond to customer complaints and corrective action requests per GOS 8.5.2-1 and
GOS 8.5.2-2.
Lead and proactively participate in corrective action and problem-solving activities, including root cause analysis. Communicate significant issues or developments during quality audit activities and, through analysis, provide plans and recommendations for resolution. Review, update, implement, and establish standards to controlled documents (GOS, other internal documents). Ensure robust application of the Quality Management System (QMS) by supporting the management review process with analytical and statistical perspectives of the operation. Track, monitor and assess KPIs for the business to support the management review process and provide recommendations and support to management when performance is not meeting expectations. Provide continuous improvement through techniques and methodologies including Six-Sigma and Kaizen to improve process and product quality. Support the creation of inspection plans defining the appropriate means for validating requirements as required to support the manufacturing of new products or product modifications. Supervise, hire, train and appraise performance for Quality Assurance personnel, both exempt and Non-Exempt. Other duties may be assigned. Required Qualifications:
STEM Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality role in the Aerospace industry. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a supervisor or manager. Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or AS9100 internal auditing experience preferred. Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred. Experience with AS9100 and participation in certification audits. Extensive practical knowledge in root cause analysis, FMEA, statistical process control and other data analysis methodologies. Experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Good project management skills. Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint. Understanding of basic GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). Ability to read and understand customer specifications and drawings, process standards, ANSI procedures and standards. Must be able to lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 lbs.
