This position reports directly to the Director of Quality and requires strong hands-on experience within the berry category, specifically blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, and strawberries. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of fresh produce quality standards, product condition management, inspection processes, and operational quality control within a fast-paced environment. This position requires a consistent on-site presence in Doral, Florida, with flexibility to work additional hours outside of standard business hours, including evenings and weekends when needed. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support quality assurance personnel while maintaining high standards of product quality, consistency, and compliance with company and customer specifications.
• Perform and oversee quality inspections on inbound and outbound product.
• Identify, document, and communicate quality concerns including defects, decay, temperature issues, handling concerns, and overall product condition throughout storage and distribution cycles.
• Collaborate with operations, logistics, procurement, inspectors, and sales teams to communicate findings, resolve quality concerns, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Implement, monitor, and strengthen quality control programs, SOPs, traceability procedures, and overall quality assurance systems.
• Assist with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and reporting related to quality failures and customer concerns.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, product reports, specifications, and quality documentation.
• Communicate directly with suppliers and growers to support product consistency and adherence to company and customer expectations. Education & Certifications
• Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Chemistry, Food Science, or a related field preferred.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Valid Passport required.
• USDA grading standards training preferred. Experience Required
• 3-5+ years of operational experience, including at least 2+ years in a management role.
• Prior experience in a QA/QC management position required.
• Fresh produce industry experience required.
• Strong berry category experience required, specifically with blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, and strawberries.
• Proven ability to lead teams, coach for performance, and effectively implement quality systems.
• Periodic short-term domestic and international travel may be required. Essential Skills & Abilities
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal) required.
• Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experience using ERP and QA systems, or the ability to quickly learn new systems.
• Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and exercise sound judgment.
• Strong cross-functional communication and leadership abilities.
• Results-driven mindset with the ability to balance quality expectations and operational priorities.
