Job Description

Food Safety Quality Assurance Coordinator Job Summary It is the responsibility of the Senior Quality Assurance Coordinator to take a lead role in the oversight and assigned work tasks of the FSQA Department. This position is to follow work instructions and complete all tasks. It is also the responsibility of the Senior Quality Assurance Coordinator to complete all required documentation as assigned and relevant to the SBH Policies and FSQA related issues occurring during the duty periods. Communication and teamwork are expected of this individual. The Senior Quality Assurance Coordinator is expected to enforce company policies. Because Food Safety and Quality Assurance is a policy enforcement department, employees' behaviors should always exemplify "best practices". Reports to the FSQA Director Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for co-development, oversight, and enforcement of Food Quality Systems (HACCP, SQF, GMP's)
  • Oversight of the Safe Quality Food (SQF) System
  • Experience with Food Defense Plans, Crisis/Business Continuity Plans, Recall/Traceability Plans, and support for each
  • Consistent monitoring of food manufacturing facility procedures
  • Data entry of QA information on laboratory documents and use of Safefood 360° software for data entry
  • Performing laboratory testing methods on products, raw and finished, as demand requires o Includes but not limited to: Color, pH, Moisture, DN, APC & Y/M microbiological plating
  • Performing quality checks of products as needed
  • Addressing, reporting, and documenting any food safety and quality issues with personnel and floor managers
  • Conduct internal facility audits of Commercial, Retail, Warehouse, and Maintenance areas
  • Verification of production paperwork and supporting documents
  • Co-develop new FSQA procedures
  • Implement new FSQA procedures as needed
  • Identify issues and proactively make recommendations for change and/or process improvements
  • Provide support including involvement with Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Action Preventive Action
  • Support 3rd Party onsite audits as needed
  • Lead training of new FSQA personnel
  • Other duties as assigned Qualifications and Requirements
  • SQF Practitioner certified
PCQI / HACCP
Certified
  • Experience with Food Safety Culture element development
  • Knowledge of Food Safety and hygiene
  • Fluent in use of MicroSoft Suite
  • English (reading, writing, and speaking)
  • Spanish preferred (speaking)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must have strong ability to multi-task and organize
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Work hours are Monday through Friday up to 9.5 hours/shift, occasional Saturdays
  • Sitting, standing, and walking up to 9.5 hours/shift

The employee is routinely required to reach with hands and arms. Employee will be subject to repetitive motion of arms, wrists, hands, and fingers. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Environment may be wet and can consist of temperature extremes and excessive noise levels. Employees will be required to adhere to general safety and food safety protocols which will include wearing hairnets, beard nets if applicable and will be required to consistently practice the washing of hands. This position consistently works with and around moving parts. Attention to surroundings is crucial as it is a very busy production/manufacturing environment with a lot of forklift traffic in the production line room. Safety training is provided.
