Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The QA Superintendent is responsible for the performance of the Companys quality assurance function across the facility. Reporting to the QA Manager, this position owns the day-to-day enforcement of the programs, specifications, and procedures the QA Manager creates and approves, recommending changes rather than setting policy. This position works daily with Operations and site management to keep quality standards met under live production conditions. This position must understand, promote and have a Creekstone Proud mindset that positively enhances the Company culture, being an example of appropriate behavior, attitude, and respect for others.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Direct the QA Supervisors and, through them, the hourly QA Technicians in their daily responsibilities. Ensure the facility and its quality programs meet or exceed customer specifications, USDA requirements, and Company standards. Execute and enforce the quality programs, specifications, and procedures owned and approved by the QA Manager. Recommend new or revised quality policies and procedures to the QA Manager. Lead root cause analysis with the operations team on daily processing and personnel incidents. Communicate quality programs, procedural changes, and performance to site management and Team Members. Deliver in-class and hands-on training on quality programs and procedures to QA and operations Team Members. Serve as back-up to the QA Manager in facilitating third-party and customer audits. Maintain the quality records and documentation required to keep the facility audit ready. Refer upward to the QA Manager regulatory matters, customer escalations, and decisions beyond this authority. Develop and promote positive working relationships with employees, peers, leaders, and all others. All other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS
Prior supervisory experience required; experience leading through other supervisors preferred. Experience in meat processing required; beef preferred, other proteins acceptable. Experience with customer quality programs required. Working knowledge of the USDA regulatory requirements governing a federally inspected beef facility. Bachelors degree in agriculture, animal science, food science, biology, or business preferred; masters a plus. HACCP, BRC, PAACO, and PCQI credentials preferred; none required. Experience improving processes preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Strong leadership skills, including the ability to direct, coach, and hold supervisors accountable. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis. Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite. Clear communication skills verbally and in written form presenting ideas, concerns, and questions in a well thought out, positive, and professional manner. Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Able to stand, sit, walk, climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and type for extended periods. Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds occasionally. Able to work in office and production environments with varying temperature, moderate noise, and required PPE. Availability to work across shifts, including evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.
