Who We Are TPM Laboratories, Inc. is an independent contract testing laboratory providing personalized analytical services to the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. TPM Labs specializes in Analytical Research and Development Testing Services, Quality Control Testing and Stability StorageTesting Services. Our goal is to provide high quality, cost effective and timely service, personalized to meet your needs. What You'll Lead TPM Laboratories is hiring a Principal Scientist to serve as the lab's top technical authority for regulated pharmaceutical analytical programs. This role sets technical direction, ensures scientific defensibility, and provides expert oversight of complex work.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead method development, validation, transfer, and lifecycle management strategy. Direct complex studies (including forced degradation) and resolve high-impact OOS/OOT investigations. Provide final technical review/approval of critical data packages, protocols, and regulatory-facing documentation. Set laboratory-wide technical standards; evaluate and implement new technologies. Represent the lab in client audits and regulatory inspections; mentor scientific staff.
Required qualifications/skills:
BS in Chemistry or related field (advanced degree strongly preferred). 10+ years in pharmaceutical/analytical labs with significant method development/validation leadership. Expert knowledge of HPLC/UPLC/GC, dissolution, UV, FTIR; strong c
GMP/ALCOA+, FDA/ICH/USP/EP
expertise. Proven technical writing, client communication, and risk-based decision-making. Apply if you can lead complex science and defend it with confidence. Your Typical Day You'll start onsite in Cherry Hill by checking in on active studies, key data trends, and any open quality-system items that need senior scientific judgment. Expect focused time reviewing chromatograms, calculations, and narratives for high-visibility deliverables, then short, direct discussions with scientists to align on technical approach and next steps. You'll join client calls to clarify method strategy and provide clear scientific rationale, and you may step into an audit or inspection discussion as the technical voice for the lab. Between reviews, you'll set aside time to strengthen technical standards, guide training, and keep long-running programs moving without surprises. Our team needs you!
