Job Description

Quality ManagerPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead and continuously improve our food safety and quality systems. The ideal candidate will own SQF certification activities, ensure regulatory and customer requirements are met, and drive a culture of quality across production, supply chain, and customer-facing teams. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on problem solving to protect product integrity and enhance operational performance.

Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and maintain the site Quality Management System (QMS) including SQF modules, HACCP plans, GMPs, and documented procedures.

Lead and coordinate SQF certification and external audits; manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to ensure timely closure and continuous improvement.

Conduct internal audits, supplier audits, and risk assessments to identify gaps and ensure compliance with food safety standards and customer specifications.

Oversee investigations of product quality incidents and customer complaints; implement root cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Collaborate with production, R D, procurement, and maintenance to ensure quality requirements are integrated into operations and new product introductions.

Train and mentor plant personnel on food safety, hygiene, quality policies, and best practices; build quality awareness across all departments.

Monitor key quality metrics (e.g., non-conformances, CCP trends, audit findings) and prepare management reports to drive data-informed improvements.

Manage supplier quality programs, including supplier qualification, performance monitoring, and corrective action follow-up.

Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., FDA/FSMA, local regulatory bodies), and maintain accurate quality records and documentation.

Lead continuous improvement projects to reduce waste, improve yield, and enhance product consistency and safety.

QualificationsBachelors degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

Minimum 5 years experience in food manufacturing quality management, with proven experience managing SQF or equivalent GFSI food safety programs.

Demonstrated experience conducting and managing SQF or 3rd-party audits and preparing for certification.

Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, food safety regulations (e.g., FSMA/FDA), and quality tools (e.g., root cause analysis, SPC, CAPA).Experience managing supplier quality and working cross-functionally with operations and procurement.

Excellent leadership, communication, and training skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and experience using quality metrics to drive improvement.

Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Desired:
certifications such as SQF Practitioner/Auditor, HACCP, or Lean/Six Sigma (Yellow/Green Belt).
