POSITION SUMMARY
The saw cut supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of a team of skilled fabricators to ensure that all work meets applicable industry codes, safety standards, quality requirements, and both company and client specifications. This role involves planning and assigning work, monitoring performance, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with procedures, safety protocols, and quality control standards. The supervisor serves as a key liaison between project management, quality assurance, and the fabrication team, promoting a culture of safety, precision, and continuous improvement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure all fabricators adhere to the C&J employee handbook policies and company procedures.
- Conduct regular inspections of cut work to uphold quality assurance and safety standards in accordance with industry codes.
- Collaborate consistently with department supervisors and project managers to meet project timelines and deliverables.
- Provide training and mentorship to fabricators on advanced techniques, safety procedures, and best practices.
- Oversee the maintenance and proper operation of fabrication equipment, ensuring a clean, safe, organized, and functional work environment.
- Demonstrate flexibility and a team-oriented mindset by accepting additional responsibilities or modifying duties as needed to support the success of C&J Equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5-10 years of fabrication experience
- 2-5 years of supervisory experience in a fabrication environment.
- Strong understanding of structural steel components.
- Leadership and team management skills
SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey expectations and feedback.
- Proven ability to mentor and develop fabricators, conduct performance evaluations, and enforce company policies.
- Strong commitment to quality and safety standards; experienced in conducting tailgate meetings and setting a strong example.
- Effective leadership skills with the ability to delegate tasks, manage teams, and motivate individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Highly organized with strong time management skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently under varying levels of supervision
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, and flow charts.
- Knowledge of P & ID and flow process, drawing revisions, and red lines.
- Working knowledge of QA/QC procedures and documentation.
- Experience with Microsoft, Adobe, and other commonly used programs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching throughout the workday.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds independently.
- Work environment may involve moderate to high noise levels; hearing protection may be required in designated areas.
- Exposure to various weather conditions, including wind, rain, heat, and cold, especially during field or outdoor assignments.
- Occasional flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and accommodate schedule changes to meet project deadlines and operational needs.
