The Quality Manager will lead the quality team that is responsible for implementing, managing and ensuring adherence to the company's Quality systems, policies and procedures, resulting in a superior level of production and service that meets the customer's requirements and expectation. The Quality Manager will champion, through ongoing training, and coaching, the achievement of Quality and production goals throughout the organization.Key Responsibilities:
Lead team of inspectors, quality engineers in designing, enhancing and implementing quality control standards, policies and procedures to ensure that we are meeting and exceeding customer specifications and providing a safe work environment. Work with direct reports on performance development. Build out a high performing team. Owns and meets KPI goals as they pertain to quality metrics of nonconformances and rework. Provides leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development. Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate fast improvements and improved working relationships; track internal trends and identify process improvements based on observed data Flexible adapting to changing situations and keep focused on delivering on own goals / commitments Support a culture of accountability around all assignments Collaborate with and educate others on process and technical issues Approach issues from multiple perspectives and collaborate with internal/external customers in generating creative, effective and practical solutions Layout and design inspection processes and quality room activities. Apply appropriate quality tools to the evaluation of those activities. Evaluate and recommend the resources necessary to meet our quality assurance goals. Coordinate all internal, external, and supplier audits to meet requirements. Develop processes and tools for the consistent capturing and reporting of Quality information. Create test procedures to qualify equipment on various intervals during production. Collect process capability data and develop tools to minimize drift and control multiple processes. Ensure that quality performance trends are documented; Quality reviews are performed and documented and all Quality processes are managed and documented to show compliance to quality controls. Provide regular communications with internal and external customers and vendors to integrate Quality requirements into existing systems. Perform other duties and specific projects as assigned.Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering. Minimum of 10 years' experience working in a manufacturing quality environment with increasing responsibility. Experience working in a precision machine shop is preferred. Minimum of 5 years' experience managing and leading a staff of inspectors and quality engineers in a manufacturing operation, serving diverse industries is required. Experience with AS9100 and implementing quality plans. Demonstrated experience implementing lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement programs in a Quality Department. Ability to read and understand blueprints. Experience with tooling design (both machine fixtures and inspection gages). CMM experience preferred. Surface plate layout experience preferred. Six Sigma or equivalent Quality training Familiar with AS9100 or similar quality system standardOther Information:
