Qualifications:
Current Registered Respiratory Therapist license BLS and ACLS certification required Experience with ventilatory equipment (invasive and non-invasive) Proficient in patient education and discharge planning Familiarity with cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency procedures Comfortable with pulmonary function studies and EKG interpretation
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver exceptional patient-centered respiratory care, including intensive therapies and patient transport Educate patients on treatments, procedures, and home care upon discharge Monitor and operate a wide range of respiratory care equipment Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry/capnography, and arterial puncture Conduct pulmonary assessments and review chest x-rays Assist with bronchoscopies, tracheostomy care, chest tube placement, and maintenance Accurately document all treatments and maintain effective communication with medical staff Participate in equipment maintenance and laboratory testing as needed Provide thorough hand-off communication during shift changes
